Jobs For Life

On March 3rd we will once again host the pre-release residents of the Alston Wilkes half-way house wth Jobs For Life re-employment training at The Center of Two Rivers. (1082 E. Montague). This is a gospel based 12 week curriculum that endeavors to encourage those who are either unemployed or in dead-end jobs, to realize that God is their creator and thus, they have great value and God has made them for work that will provide for their needs and bring him glory.

The training will be each Thursday evening beginning March 3 from 6:45 to 8:45pm. "Champions" are needed to assist and mentor the students in their class exercises. We have around ten students currently registered and would like to see at least five champions to partner with two students and encourage them in class. (Contact the office at 225-5790)

Each evening of class we would like to serve refreshments. If you would be able to provide anything from brownies to pizza please have it at the Center by 6:30p on thursday night. Though not required, it is helpful to let us know if you are providing refreshments for a particular thursday.

Alston Wilkes Society

 We continue gathering and distributing hygiene packs (towel, wash clothe, soap, tooth brush, tooth paste, deodarant, shampoo/conditioner, hair brush and laundry bag) as many arrive with only the clothes on their back from federal prison.

AWS is a sub-contractor to the Federal Bureau of Prisons and seeks to place men back into the community and Two Rivers has partnered with them to try to build a foundation to seek positive employment.

Under the mission team team leader (John Ring) we are presented with regular opportunities for hands on service in one of the poorest neighborhoods in North Charleston. If you are interested in a short term mission opportunity the contact jringjr@gmail.com.

Property Purchase

TRPC is currently (month of February) applying for a bank loan to fulfill our  lease purchase agreement with the owners of "The Mankind Center" on East Montague. It is a small 1300sqft. storefront on the ,main street of Park Circle.

 Having completed the re-model we use the site as a ministry center and the establishing a ministry of presence as we operate out of a 24/7 location in addition to our Sunday worship location next door at the South of Broadway Theatre.

We use this building ,called The Center, to provide re-employment training, bible studies, music "jam" sessions, childrens ministry, discipleship, men & womens groups, and community dinners.
