Coming Winter 2010:
Micro-Business In Nicaragua
The country of Nicaragua is one of the poorest in the world. This central american country extends from atlantic to pacific coast and is annually hit by hurricanes, floods, mud-slides, and earthquakes. With active volcanoes they even had fire damage from its eruption. Numerous families are displaced and orphans are seen pan-handling in the streets.
We have for many years worked in the orphanages and now Two Rivers would like to consider starting a micro-business in Quigalpa. The big picture is to purchase a piece of property, build a block building of 1000sqft and stock for a barrio grocery or bakery that will employ others. The host family would live and work there and space would be included for either a small school or church to meet.
The cost is approximately $15,000 to stock and stipend for the first year on a purchased property.A "loan repayment" plan will serve to perpetuate this mission effort for micro-business's.
If you are interested in helping financially, going this winter to explore for the first site, or serve in the planning, please contact Pastor Phil Stogner at stognerphil@gmail.com
