Alston Wilkes Society
Two Rivers has some great opportunities to show Christ's love and compassion by serving others at the Alston Wilkes Society Halfway House which houses pre-released felons. Below are some areas that need volunteers and service.
1. We coordinate a health and hygiene program at Alston Wilkes. We need to a) gather supplies, b)group individually, c) distribute! The supplies needed are: toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, soap, razors, shaving cream and a towel. They also appreciate laundry detergent and underwear/t-shirts. We currently need hygiene kits for both men & women. You may drop them off at the church center anytime.
2. We also need volunteers to come and help with out Re-Employment Support Groups* that meets on Thursday nights from 6:30pm to 8:45pm. Additional volunteers are needed to provide dessert/refreshments for those attending before our meeting at 7pm. Those who stay to assist the students in reading and comprehension are called "Champions" as you encourage these men in their journey!
Please note that If you want to volunteer at the facility then you need to submit a volunteer application. You can submit that application to either Phil or John at your convenience.
We are so blessed to get this opportunity and hope that you can join us!
* Jobs For Life Training at The Two Rivers Center (1082 E Montague) is currently offered in the fall (September) for 12 weeks and beginning again in February for 12 weeks. However, we offer regular voluteer training and service opportunities at Alston Wilkes.Attached Documents
